The “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” campaign may be casting physicians in its next string of television commercials. The use of computers in the medical environment is on the steady rise as the Obama Administration pushes for widespread adoption of Health Information Technology. For computer manufacturing giant Apple, this is creating a new target market in healthcare providers, who may soon have to choose between the Mac vs. PC dichotomy.
In recent months, Apple has been rumored to be developing a tablet-style computer that would have the sleek and functional components of both the iPhone and MacBook. Word on the blogosphere is that Apple has been sending tablet prototypes to doctors- its target makret- at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Jason Wilk, at the tinyComb blog, writes that the Apple tablet will be entering the tablet market with a competitive edge. It is projected to cost about $1,000, which is more than half the price of the competing C5 tablet computer currently retailing for $2,199. The C5, from Motion Computing, Inc, has been on the market since 2007, and has been adopted my many hospitals for its ability to eliminate clipboards, scanners and cart-mounted computers on wheels. While the C5 is widely used today, it has been referred to as dated, heavy, and overpriced.
If Apple is successful with developing and marketing the new Mac tablet, it may not be long before we hear physicians chanting ‘I’m a Mac” in the hospital workplace.

Based on the recent history of the iPhone, i won’t be rushing out for the first release. I’ll wait for the product to improve and the price to drop. Knowing the history of Apple that won’t be too long. I’d love to know many people had buyers guilt after going to buy the first edition

Alot of bloggers not really happy with the new iPad.There was just 2 much hype over it and lots of blogers got disapointed. You see, I actually see some of the awesome potential uses of the gadget. Third-party apps for playing tunes, games, newsprints and magazine and FFS books, tons of awesome stuff, but they failed to sell it properly (excluding the books). It looks kind of not finished

Thanks for publishing about this. There’s a bunch of great tech information on the internet. You’ve got a lot of that info here on your website. I’m impressed – I try to keep a couple blogs fairly up-to-date, but it’s a struggle sometimes. You’ve done a big job with this one. How do you do it?
