		<description>This is a well done article. Anyone who is considering having an outside vendor scan records should take the information from this article into consideration. My company does medical record scanning, and it is great to see there are others who see the need for this service as well. It is very important to create a log of each file in each box, so that way once the project is finished there is a feasible way of checking to make sure each record is scanned correctly, and so there are no lost records. I think many providers will see that even though they select an EMR to go with, many EMRs do not provide you with the tools and training needed to effectively scan in a large back file of records.
