Connecting all the retail pharmacies in a state has been a long time coming! No longer will we have to track flu outbreaks by how many folks do a Google search in a specific area. How is this going to benefit patients that "Dr. shop" to get controlled substances? Is this going to be part of the monitoring process and will physicians get feedback on their patients when they get perscriptions for controlled substances from another physician? Thanks!

I know that in the case of southwestern MO, the local Walgreens, Wal-mart, etc., have purchased and distributed flu vac. Unless a patient is willing to call their physician, and let them know that they have received a flu shot, this data never makes it to the patient record. Hence, there is no way to report. Finally, a piece of technology that helps.
