Leasing
Leasing is extremely similar to financing. The main difference is that when you lease a product, you have never purchased it. When you are financing a product/service, you are the owner of it.
The best analogy is when you are choosing to buy or lease a car. When you buy the car, you are the owner and are financing it and paying monthly payments. When you lease a car, you have the monthly payments; however, you give the car back once your lease ends.
When you implement a web-based EHR, you are leasing the software as a service. When you implement an ‘in house’ EHR, you purchase a client server and have the choice to pay in full, or you can finance the piece of equipment.
