Tablets, also known as a tablet PC, is notebook computer where a user can write using a special pen. The notebook has a LCD screen to enable the user to write.
The text can remain as handwritten text, or it can be converted into computer text via handwriting recognition.
Tablet PCs are extremely popular in conjunction with an EHR. This is because tablets enable physicians to write as if they were still using paper charts. Several EHRs are designed to be used only with Tablet PCs.
