Warranty
Each EHR product has an established warranty. This means that there is a binding contract when you sign with the vendor that states that you must use for x amount of years. In addition, the warranty will also explain what is covered once the system is purchased.
The warranty is just one aspect of the license agreement. The license agreement is the key to the client vendor relationship.
The license agreement is comprised of:
1. The scope of the licenses
2. The support associated with each license
3. Warranty/Liability
4. Termination
Make sure to discuss this with each EHR vendor that you speak with. You want to understand what exactly you are going to be receiving when you decide to purchase a specific product.
