How would my personal health record connect to hospitals, healthcare providers, devices? Microsoft® HealthVault illustrates that its PHR is connected to several different entities.
This is important because like an EHR, your PHR should have the ability to connect with your pharmacy as well as a health device. Not only do physicians have the ability to transmit your data from one location to another, now you are in control and able to manage your health with a PHR.

This is one reason that I use HealthVault; I also like the fact that I can download information from a growing number of devices, such as pedometers and peak/flow meters and create a valuable history for myself and my family members. Saves me trips to the doctor, that’s for sure!
