Does it Improve the Quality of Care

Tremendously. I don't have to remember or go through the chart to remind patients regarding tests due. I get all my tests back from the lab and I can graph trends versus medications. We don't have to look up physicians we are referring to, medication lists are upto date and clear. Patients get printed information about the visit so they are clear on our discussions.

Pros

Increased our monthly gross by over 15,000 a month. (Boy was that a good surprise)
After 7 months, I was getting home earlier than I ever did when I had paper charts.
Easy to fax
Easy to recieve and review reports
Easy to assign tasks to MAs.
Easy to track everything going on in the office.
Billing statements are clean. I don't have to worry about a statement being handed to a patient that does not clearly and accurately reflect the patient's balance.

Cons

I wish the scanning and customization could have gone much faster than 6 months, it was a real strain to see patients and learn and modify templates and the system all at the same time.
Documentation can still take about 2 minutes per chart.
