I hope that they can achieve all their goals implementing "meaningful use". If they can keep the price low like in the past, I wonder why thousands of docs would not want to purchase this product. My fear is if they are successful, their yearly cost will dramatically increase for all current users.

Can't remember, wasn't much, probably less than $900 when I bought it.

Definitely. Problem list is updated, and I can check drug interaction before prescribing.

Pros
Ease of front desk use. Can be learned quickly.
Cons
Templates cumbersome to create. Some functions confuses Dragon Naturally Speaking, and they should change the name of it to make it more friendly to DNS. Billing functions not fixed despite numerous attempts to contact company about it.

You've got to look at this (free download) and compare to others before you make "the leap. My orthopod son set up a solo practice with Amazing Charts last year and recommended I look at it. Glad I did.

Obviously price but it is intuitive and easy to set up/ use. Office staff accepts readily.
Just the right amount of bells and whistles. Constant refinement by Amazing Charts
They listen to customers input.
Cons
I didn't start using it sooner. No billing module yet but I still use the one I've had for about 20 years. Not a big deal.

Very happy with that decision to download and get started. I was able to do in 30 minutes what I had tried to do for years with several other electronic record programs.

I actually purchased Amazing Charts on the ground flooor- $250.00. Have used it since early 2002 and the maintenance fees are low and cover alll upgrades, e prescribing - great value.
Does it Improve the Quality of Care
Yes - it allows me to plot out labs, track vitals, print notes for patients, including medication lists. admit orders, etc. I can easlily find and compare labs.

Devout user - have beta tested products.
Pros
The product is very good - they are always adding features.
Easy to learn.
You can download the product and use for 3 months for FREE - if you like it pay $995 per provider and you are set, if you don't - then quit using it.
Cons
You may need outside help on networking issues, but the product can be run on off the shelf hardware with peer to peer network.
